День образования части

В 1995 году руководством республики было решено в целях улучшения борьбы с организованной преступностью и совершенствования порядка патрульно-постовой службы создать на базе третьей роты батальона милиции специального назначения «Днестр» специальный моторизированный батальон внутренних войск МВД ПМР на правах отдельной части. В январе 1996 года были завершены все организационные мероприятия и батальон приступил к несению боевой службы. В дальнейшем подразделение было переименовано в СМВЧ 2101, а 5 января 1996 стало считаться официальной датой образования части.
