Individuals may bring in unlimited number of mobile phones to PMR

Some changes in the rules on the movement of goods by natural persons have entered into force since the start of the year

Tiraspol, 11 January. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. With Governmental Decree No. 254 of 22 September 2016 approving the import customs tariff for 2017−2018 coming into effect since 1 January 2017, certain changes in the rules on the movement of goods by individuals have entered into force.

As the press service of the State Customs Committee (SCC) comments on the new tariff, the importation of mobile phones in quantities exceeding the norm for personal consumption will be excluded from the list of goods banned from importation by individuals to the PMR.

Citizens may now bring in the unlimited quantity of mobile phones subject to the established tariff and non-tariff regulation.

It should be noted that at the same time the list of goods banned from importation by natural persons has been supplemented with the item «netting gears with a mesh of smaller than 55 mm made of fishing line (monothread)». According to experts, this measure aims to combat poaching and illegal fishing.

More detailed information about the rules on the movement of goods by natural persons is available on the official website of Pridnestrovie's SCC.
