Tiraspol, 11 January. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. During today's government meeting, President Krasnoselsky voiced long-term tasks set before the Ministry of Defence.
Among them are conducting combat training of the Armed Forces to enhance the skills of personnel, creating conditions for increasing interest in military service.
«The defence minister should prepare a report on the readiness of the Armed Forces of the PMR to perform compulsory military service on the principle of working day with the exception of constant combat readiness units," said Vadim Krasnoselsky.
The president separately focused on the attractiveness of the Armed Forces. According to him, it largely depends on the elimination of negative factors in the army, including harassment of young soldiers. Vadim Krasnoselsky called the talks about harassment as a social phenomenon «subjective or just [caused by] reluctance to work».
«I think the problem can be solved by compulsory military service adopting the working day mode — from 8:00 to 18:00. According to the experience of the Interior Ministry, which must be resumed, no serviceman evaded military service in the four years of employing this system. All of them returned to their military units in the morning. I am instructing the defence minister to compile a list of those who are ready to adopt this mode of service," underscored the president.
Besides, he also commissioned an audit of weapons, military hardware and the other facilities of the Armed Forces.
Also, according to Vadim Krasnoselsky, it is necessary to review clothing allowance agreements on providing servicemen with durable and comfortable uniforms.
«Combat uniform for privates and generals should be the same. It will be a good impetus to deal with this issue," said the president. «This is also an element of the attractiveness of our armed forces. I am sure we will be able to finance this.»
Among the tasks facing the Ministry of Defence, the head of state mentioned the creation of the army sports club following the example of the Dynamo society. Vadim Krasnoselsky also noted the need to invite youth to take part in patriotic movements and cultivate mass sports.
