Tiraspol, 11 January. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. As Novosti Pridnestrovya has already informed, the president voiced long-term tasks facing the Ministry of Defence during today's government meeting.
One of the most important of them, according to Vadim Krasnoselsky, is the establishment of a Suvorov military school in Tiraspol. The school will open on 1 September 2017. Tomorrow the president will hold a meeting on this issue.
«This will be a unit of the Ministry of Defence and Pridnestrovie's visiting card. All the power structures will participate in the organisation and patronage of this institution. Besides, the number of the cadet corps will increase up to 300 persons. The Suvorov school is supposed to admit the same number of young people. In many ways, such schools give a start in life to young people. The state must take care of it," said Vadim Krasnoselsky.
The quality of food and cooking in the Armed Forces will also be audited and reviewed, said the president. Vadim Krasnoselsky recommended the minister «to conduct unscheduled checks and personally attend and taste dinners, lunches and breakfasts of servicemen» as there are numerous complaints about them, despite the fact that funds are allocated.
Together with Pridnestrovian State University, the Ministry of Defence should renew the system of training students based on the needs of the MoD.
«Let me remind you that the president has repealed the decree of 28 September 2016, which caused great public resonance, providing for the use of weapons and military hardware by the Armed Forces in Pridnestrovie," concluded the head of state.
