Tiraspol, September 3. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic (PMR) Vitaly Ignatiev called Moldova's statements about the military parade in Tiraspol hysteria.
"This is political hysteria and insinuation... Because, on the one hand, of course, it is nice that Moldovan officials are observing the processes taking place in Pridnestrovie. But I also see some kind of pre-election context here, because they intimidate the unfortunate Moldovan population, the unfortunate Moldovan society every time," Ignatiev said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
The head of the PMR MFA drew attention to the statement of the bureau for the so-called reintegration of Moldova that the military parade in Tiraspol was allegedly provocative.
"They are trying to create an image of an enemy from Pridnestrovie. This is absolutely not true. The parade was absolutely peaceful. Cadets, military school students, female servicemen, and peacekeepers participated in the parade. This parade shows the unity of our society, that our people are united, we are self-assured, we will continue to defend our rights and interests. We are not a threat to anyone," Ignatiev noted.
The head of the PMR MFA also added that Pridnestrovie is set on good-neighborly relations with Moldova. According to him, in addition to the military parade, hundreds of children performed on the square in Tiraspol.
"All this shows that we strive for peace, we are open, but this is our country, we love it. And, of course, probably many people do not like that we love our country, that we are united, that we are self-assured and that we will continue to follow the path of independence and sovereignty of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic," Ignatiev concluded.
