Vadim Krasnoselsky requested information on healthcare funding. According to data provided by the relevant minister, it has amounted to 918.6 million rubles this year (as of today). This is one of the highest figures in nine years despite the challenging situation. The state was primarily interested in the issue of citizenship treatment abroad. The state has funded medical care in international medical institutions for 5597 Pridnestrovians since 2017. While 134 citizens received this opportunity in 2017, the number has fallen to 1090 in 2022. The number is lower – 709 this year. The decline in this indicator is also related to the provision of some medical services previously available in the republic. 747 patients underwent surgery at the expense of this country, financed by the Pridnestrovian budget in just five years. Operations were also launched at the Republican Clinical Hospital simultaneously. Our surgeons performed the first such operation on December 3, 2021, bringing the total number to 357 in four years. Demand for this type of surgical intervention is high: currently, 900 patients are eligible for surgery. Last year, knee replacements began at the Republican Clinical Hospital. 12 patients underwent surgery abroad, and more than hundreds were mistakenly treated over the past two years. Increased activity is needed in this area, as 1628 Pridnestrovians currently require knee replacements on the waiting list.
An important long-term objective is the training of highly qualified personnel for the Pridnestrovian healthcare system. Funding for this purpose is secured annually. In addition to training students at PSU and the medical college, reform courses, advanced training, and professional retraining for current specialists are regularly held both at Pridnestrovian educational institutions and with the participation of faculty from the Volga Region Research Medical University. Currently, 356 physicians and 607 mid-level medical specialists are continuing their professional development training.
