The problem of registering cars imported after September 2018 in the Vehicle Registration Offices may be solved

The issue was discussed at a meeting of political representatives of Pridnestrovie and Moldova

Tiraspol, November 19. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Since August, the work of Vehicle Registration Offices has resumed, but its mechanism is still not fully operational: Chisinau does not register vehicles imported after 2018. This contradicts the Moldovan-Pridnestrovian agreements, emphasized the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pridnestrovie Vitaly Ignatiev at a meeting of political representatives of the PMR and the RM.

In addition, the work is proceeding extremely slowly: only one and a half thousand motorists were able to register in three months. At this rate, it will take about 10 years for everyone who wants neutral numbers to receive them, Vitaly Ignatiev noted.

"We know that the Moldovan side plans to limit the work of the vehicle registration offices to certain deadlines. This contradicts our agreements. There can be no artificial restrictions on this mechanism, like any other," the head of the PMR MFA said.

Vice Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova Oleg Serebryan expressed hope that by the end of the year the issue of registering cars imported after September 1, 2018 in the Vehicle Registration Offices can be resolved. Vitaly Ignatyev stated that without solving this problem, the Vehicle Registration Offices mechanism will be dysfunctional.
