The PMR MFA drew the attention of the UN to the ban on medical equipment`s imports to the republic

Support for refugees and work on the Human Rights Framework in Pridnestrovie were also discussed

Tiraspol, June 15. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The previous day, a meeting was held between Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Stetsyuk and the Head of the UN Human Rights Office Beya Ferenczi in the Foreign Ministry of Pridnestrovie, the press service of the PMR MFA reports.

The parties discussed the implementation of a new project initiative under the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, aimed at supporting refugees with special needs, host families and other vulnerable groups. Humanitarian, social and other aspects related to the implementation of this project were touched upon.

The Deputy Foreign Minister of the PMR spoke about the law adopted in Pridnestrovie, which regulates a set of measures for state support of refugees in the areas of employment, social protection and education.

The interlocutors also outlined further steps to work on the Framework for Human Rights in Pridnestrovie.

Separately, Alexander Stetsyuk drew the UN representatives` attention to an acute humanitarian problem related to the ban on imports to Pridnestrovie of components for a CT scanner in the Republican Hospital for the Invalids of the Great Patriotic War. He stressed that those inhumane restrictions of the Republic of Moldova were a clear violation of people's right to life and health, preventing access to quality medical services for Pridnestrovian citizens and refugees staying in the territory of the PMR.

The parties also discussed other topical issues of bilateral cooperation, agreeing to maintain regular contacts.
