Bendery, May, 11. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The PMR President Vadim Krasnoselski spelled out the reasons for the weak dynamics of the negotiation process. According to the head of state, those are political processes in Moldova, where the government had not yet been formed.
Over the past 5 months, the activity of the negotiation process has noticeably decreased, approaching the zero level: the number of meetings of working (expert) groups and meetings of political representatives has been reduced to a minimum. Such data was given by Vadim Krasnoselski at a meeting with the special representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office Franco Frattini. The conversation took place in the Bendery Fortress in the Old Bastion hotel-restaurant.
“My opinion is that the negotiation process should not be held hostage by the political situation in Moldova. Whatever political processes take place there, the negotiation process at the expert level, the interaction of technical specialists should continue,” Vadim Krasnoselski said.
In an interview with the press, the President of the PMR said that in order to resume the “5 + 2” negotiation format (Pridnestrovie and Moldova are parties; Russia, OSCE, Ukraine are mediators; EU and US are observers), expert groups and political representatives of Tiraspol and Chisinau should work dynamically.
“I note that Mr. Frattini and his colleagues are fully aware of the agenda and, most importantly, they agree with us, that it is necessary to move forward and resume the Permanent Meeting of the “5 + 2” format. For this, of course, expert (working) groups should work and political representatives should meet. We see objective reasons for the fact that in Moldova the political crisis has not been completely eliminated. We, of course, wish our neighbors stability. We hope for the common sense of our colleagues. For our part, we are ready to remove some of the obstacles that hinder moving forward.”
