Operational meeting

The President held an operational meeting. He invited the PMR Government Chairman Alexander Rosenberg, his deputy, Minister of Economic Development of the PMR Sergey Obolonik and head of the Foreign Ministry of Pridnestrovie Vitaly Ignatiev to the conversation. The current state of affairs in the energy sector and the prospects for overcoming the energy crisis were discussed. The main thing now is to speed up the process of gas supplies to the republic.

An agreement has been reached on the supply of 3 million cubic meters of gas to Pridnestrovie at the moment, which is necessary to maintain the viability of the energy system, which Tiraspoltransgaz will purchase or borrow from Moldovagaz by March 1.

In addition, the EU proposal to allocate a grant of 30 million euros to Pridnestrovie to overcome the energy crisis is being discussed. The republic confirmed its readiness to accept this assistance. The President expressed gratitude for the humanitarian initiative. It was noted that the Pridnestrovian side has no official information about the practical mechanism for providing support. Specifics are needed, both from the Moldovan side and from European colleagues regarding the grant offered to Pridnestrovie. The mechanism must be detailed immediately. Vadim Krasnoselsky instructed the PMR Foreign Ministry to contact the relevant Moldovan structures and insist on holding a working meeting today.

It is known at the moment, that the online meeting of Pridnestrovian, Moldovan and European representatives, including energy specialists, is scheduled for today at 16:00.
