Vadim Krasnoselsky met with the Special Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office for the Pridnestrovian Settlement Thomas Lenk. The meeting took place at the presidential executive office. The head of the OSCE Mission to the Republic of Moldova Kelly Keiderling, her deputy, and advisers were present. The host party was represented by the PMR Foreign Minister Vitaly Ignatiev and the adviser to the PMR President Pavel Prokudin in addition to the PMR President.
Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized welcoming the guests that Pridnestrovie appreciates the participation of the OSCE in the negotiation process and counts on the organization's assistance in resuming a full-fledged and effective Moldovan- Pridnestrovian dialogue. Its current state does not inspire optimism, and the Moldovan side deliberately minimizes productive communication, according to Vadim Krasnoselsky. Such a practice is not only a reality today. It has been implemented by Moldova since at least 2019, when the signing of the final documents was demonstratively disrupted. The goal is clear: to prevent Pridnestrovie from resolving vital issues as an equal participant in the negotiations. Parity is the fundamental principle of the "Permanent Conference..." format, and it is advantageous for Moldova to act in the dark. That is why the neighboring republic is making every possible effort to ensure that the "5+2" format does not resume work. The PMR President emphasized at the same time that the "5+2" decisions adopted and, most importantly, implemented in the legal field of each of the republics are valuable. He recalled the documents signed in 2016 – the "Berlin" protocol and the "Berlin+" package of agreements – and recommended that the OSCE return to them, analyze the content and assess their effectiveness.
Vadim Krasnoselsky assured that the Pridnestrovian side and he personally are ready for contacts and count on the resumption of the negotiation process. The PMR President emphasized that the priority is a peaceful final settlement of the Moldovan-Pridnestrovian conflict, focusing on the fact that the word order in this formulation is extremely important: the primary priority is a peaceful solution. The PMR President is confident that economy, energy security, banking, freedom of speech, respect for human rights - success in all areas is a derivative of high-quality dialogue.
Thomas Lenk noted in turn that he counts on the intensification of the work of the "Permanent Conference ...", assuring that he is a true fan of the "5 + 2" format, the work within which is spelled out in his current mandate as a special representative.
