Vadim Krasnoselsky to Maya Sandu: Keep your word – ensure gas supplies to Pridnestrovie

The PMR President once again addressed the RM President in his Telegram channel and published a letter sent to Moldovagaz on January 18

Tiraspol, January 20. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The head of the Pridnestrovian state Vadim Krasnoselsky once again addressed the President of the Republic of Moldova Maya Sandu in his Telegram channel.

"Despite the one-sided format of communication, I will still continue to use the available tool - the messenger - to address the President of the Republic of Moldova. Dear Mrs. Sandu. You and your entourage have repeatedly referred to JSC Moldovagaz`s monopoly right regarding the supply of natural gas to Pridnestrovie. This is your position. We act in the interests of citizens who are now freezing in their apartments, in the interests of the wards of social institutions, in the interests of enterprises that are idle due to the lack of gas supply," Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized.

The head of state noted that Pridnestrovie is ready to purchase natural gas through Moldovagaz, about which the Moldovan supplier was notified on January 18 of this year. "Tiraspoltransgaz sent an official letter to Moldovagaz, asking ASAP to outline the mechanism for concluding the deal, the procedure, and the participants in the process. Today is already January 20. There is no answer. I ask you to refrain from politicizing the issue and remember the people. In order to fulfill the conditions, you need to know them. Dear Mrs. Sandu. I urge you once again: keep your publicly given word - ensure the supply of gas to Pridnestrovie," Vadim Krasnoselsky concluded. The President of the PMR also published a letter sent to Moldovagaz JSC on January 18 in his Telegram channel.

Let us recall that on January 1, due to the termination of Russian gas transit through the territory of Ukraine and the unsettled financial relations between PJSC Gazprom and JSC Moldovagaz, gas supplies to Pridnestrovie were interrupted. As a result, gas supplies to villages and private residential buildings in cities, heat and hot water supplies to apartment buildings have been terminated, and rolling blackouts are in effect. Due to the crisis situation in the energy sector, a state of emergency has been declared in the PMR. On January 15, PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky announced that Russia would soon begin humanitarian gas supplies to Pridnestrovie. An agreement on this was reached at the level of the Russian Ministry of Energy. However, recent events show that gas supplies are encountering opposition from Moldova, which is seeking to aggravate the humanitarian crisis in the PMR.
