Tiraspol, October, 16. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The level of trust increasing in Pridnestrovie as a country, open not only for the investments but also for tourism, can be considered as one of the most important forum result. Andrew Betanov, Investment Agency director, addressed this issue on “Radio 1”. He emphasized that Pridnestrovian International Economic Forum 2018 was different from the previous ones by the wider representation - more than 600 participants, including guests from abroad. This year at the platform of the forum experts and investors from Germany, USA, China, Belarus, Moldova and Russia were represented as speakers, moderators or listeners. The organizers had to work a lot in order to attract their interest in our republic.
“If we are talking about investors, then this is absolutely field and practical work. If this is an expert community, then we worked through the popularization of our legislation and interaction with the scientific community. When we meet with someone and talk to them, that means we work with these companies and other companies. So we had this rare opportunity which actually appears once a year, to meet everyone in one place, to see each other, to get acquainted and to discuss in practical terms how we can work in our republic. When people from different countries see each other here, they become aware that it is possible to work here, and the overall loyalty level or the level of trust is being increased” – the head of the agency pointed.
You can also get an idea of Pridnestrovie business climate and working conditions with the help of the agency website. But some of the potential investors decided to come here in person in order to get better understanding what Pridnestrovie region is.
“A lot of them were picked up at the airport. Their mood could be noticed from the beginning of the road. Some of them seemed suspicious with the idea, particularly those, whom I accompanied myself. All the way from the airport they kept asking questions: Where are you taking me to? Why do we have to cross another boarder? Where can I withdraw money from my credit card? What is your country population? What is your GDP? Do you speak Russian? - these were their questions” – Andrew Betanov said.
The answers were received during two days of forum. During these two days they could not only take part in various kinds of discussions, but also meet with government officials, talk with the business community, and ask all their questions.
There was also cultural programme: all sorts of exhibitions, excursions and sightseeing.
“They were all in a great mood when they were leaving. The most important thesis we`d heard was: “We weren`t expecting such a good organization, as we were planning to visit lagging region. The event was of a good level.” These conclusions were made by serious reputable experts, who attend such events very often” – the head of Investment Agency pointed.
But the most important thing the guests heard and saw were the measures that were taken over the last year to stimulate the flow of investments.
“Generally, when people come to our country, they tell us how they expected nothing good. Our main goal is to dispel those negative myths with the help of forums. The investors see profit somewhere where it would be easy, and now it is easy here in our country, especially for the investors, because we lead them from beginning to end. By giving us the power of attorney they even don't have to do anything at all” - Andrew Betanov pointed.
If we talk about practical outcomes, the four signed agreements promise to create about 300 new workplaces. The list of the most in-demand specialists is quite wide, starting with pharmacists and ending with agronomists. And, as emphasized, these will mainly be vacancies for local specialists.
