Tiraspol, February 5. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Since the end of 2024, funds have been accumulated in the republican budget of the PMR, which made it possible to pay salaries and pensions in January. There is still a certain reserve, which will make it possible to fulfill social obligations in February.
The chairman of the Supreme Council Committee on Economic Policy, Budget and Finance, Viktor Guzun, told journalists about this today.
He recalled that in the context of the state of emergency (it was extended today by the parliament until March 10), the law on minimizing the consequences of the energy crisis is in effect in the republic. This law gives the Government operational tools in terms of the procedure for financing budgetary obligations.
“We must understand that resources are limited. Our capabilities will depend on how the situation develops further," Viktor Guzun noted, emphasizing that today, when many enterprises are not working and are idle, tax payments to the budget are minimal.
The head of the Committee on Economy said that the parameters of the republican budget for 2025 will be seriously adjusted.
"Preliminary adjustments and calculations are currently being made. We will understand the amounts more precisely when the situation with the work of our economic agents is fully understood and when the issue of constant gas supplies and its volumes is resolved," Viktor Guzun explained.
Let us recall that from January 1, gas supplies to the territory of the PMR were interrupted due to the termination of Russian gas transit through the territory of Ukraine and the unsettled financial relations between PJSC Gazprom and JSC Moldovagaz.
Since February 1, gas supplies to the PMR have resumed thanks to a ten-day European grant, but the incoming volumes are only sufficient to provide heat, gas and electricity to the population and social facilities. The question of resuming normal operations of enterprises remains open.
