Tiraspol, February 5. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. During an emergency session of parliament, Viktor Guzun, Chairman of the Committee of the Supreme Council of the PMR on Economic Policy, Budget and Finance, speaking about the execution of the republican budget in 2025, emphasized that the most important thing is to fulfill social obligations to citizens.
He recalled that the main financial document of the country was adopted at the end of 2024 and its parameters were planned taking into account the work of Pridnestrovian economic agents. However, due to the energy crisis, most enterprises are currently idle. This directly affects the receipts to the treasury.
"Now the Government and the Supreme Council are busy calculating the consequences of the gas crisis, the shutdown of our economic agents. We are calculating the consequences of the fact that our main enterprise (Moldavskaya GRES), which is engaged in the generation and export of electricity to Moldova, is not receiving certain funds," Victor Guzun explained.
The Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Economic Policy noted that in order to fulfill social obligations to citizens (payment of salaries, pensions, benefits), funding for a number of target programs, including the Capital Investment Fund, will probably be reduced.
We remind you that the state of emergency economic situation, introduced due to the termination of blue fuel supplies to the republic, continues to operate in Pridnestrovie. Since February 1, European humanitarian gas has begun to flow into the country, which is intended for social needs, but not for stabilizing the work of enterprises.
