The republic is provided with electricity by three sources during the energy crisis: the coal-fired unit of the MGRES, the Dubossary Hydroelectric Power Plant, and the Tirotex-Energo station. The latter was built to meet the needs of the Tirotex factory in Tiraspol. It provides the republic's population with light, and accordingly, heat from electrical appliances. The station's contribution is 20 MW per day. Gas is used to generate it – remains of the gas. It was necessary to choose: to increase the period of providing citizens with light or the duration of the period of minimal (for cooking) use of gas. It was decided to launch the generation of electricity by the Tirotex-Energo station. The President visited the facility today.
