According to Elena Gorodetskaya, electoral mechanisms have been adjusted and launched

Tiraspol, February 27. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Pridnestrovian President Vadim Krasnoselsky discussed preparation for Russia's presidential elections in the country with the head of the Central Election Commission (CEC), the president's press service reports.

The CEC chair, Elena Gorodetskaya, told the president that the electoral mechanisms had been adjusted and launched. The ballot boxes would be installed at 24 polling stations. Voting places had been determined. The heads of state administrations had outlined the range of tasks to be solved by various departments to prepare and equip the corresponding premises. Particular attention should be paid to infrastructure.

Entertaining activities will be organized for children at the polling stations of Tiraspol and Bender.

Four cars will be assigned to each precinct to facilitate exit voting.

One of the most important aspects is voting in rural areas. Serious analytical and organizational work has been carried out to involve as many rural residents in the electoral process as possible, Elena Gorodetskaya noted.

The interaction of the Pridnestrovian CEC with the Russian embassy to Moldova is active and fruitful. Over 61,000 advertisements and 37,000 fliers have been produced The payment terminals of Sberbank and Agroprombank will accommodate the necessary voting information. The CEC will seek similar assistance from the management of pharmacies and retail chains, as well as large employers.

Already today, Pridnesrovian TV channels will start broadcating ads in which the Russian embassy will inform citizens about the addresses of polling stations. Audio anouncements will be made in public places.

Serious attention is paid, according to Gorodetskaya, to involve young people in the election process. Lectures are being held for high school students. A republican essay contest, "If I were the President" and "If I were an MP", will be held on 3 March. Its results will be summed up in the middle of the month. The winners will take part in an excursion to the Bendery Fortress and the Military Glory Memorial.

Vadim Krasnoselsky stressed the importance of informing the population, noting its influence on the turnout.

"It is important that Russian citizens who live permanently in the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic feel themselves to be part of Russia, an integral part of its electoral space. Every vote of our citizen influences Russian politics. It is important to understand this both for our citizens and for the Russian Federation. As Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin said, soon it is not the borders that will determine the state but the number of citizens of this state living there. The Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic is making a significant contribution to the election of the President of Russia. We must ensure an adequate turnout, and people will make their own free choice," underscored Vadim Krasnoselsky.
