The marking Militia Day gala event was attended by the President

A gala event dedicated to the 34th anniversary of the Pridnestrovian Militia force was held in Tiraspol. The PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky congratulated the employees and veterans of the militia force on their professional holiday. Addressing those present, he spoke not only as the President, but also as a militia veteran.

Vadim Krasnoselsky dedicated nearly two decades to serving in law enforcement, five of which – from 2007 to 2012 – he served as the Minister of Internal Affairs of the PMR.

The President emphasized that it is impossible to imagine modern Pridnestrovie without the militia, which stood at the very beginning of the republic's development and played a key role in protecting its citizens.

Vadim Krasnoselsky recalled that in the early 1990s, after the collapse of the Soviet Union and the declaration of independence by the former Soviet republics, Pridnestrovians were denied legal assistance. "Moldova did not accept reports of crimes. Just imagine such a legal collapse, when the Pridnestrovian people were placed outside the law, beyond its bounds," said Vadim Krasnoselsky.

Militia officers made a historic choice during those difficult times – they remained loyal to their oath and to the Pridnestrovian people, despite the difficulties and uncertainty.

"It was the Pridnestrovian militia that took responsibility for people's safety during the collapse of the Soviet state, when there was no legal support. It was the right choice – the choice to serve the people," the President noted.

Vadim Krasnoselsky thanked the veterans for their dedication to duty and their contribution to the formation and development of the law enforcement system, and expressed gratitude to the current militia officers for their professionalism, courage, and dedication.

The PMR President emphasized that law enforcement officers perform a vital mission every day – ensuring public safety, participating in rescue operations, preventing crime, and assisting in emergency situations.

Participants observed a moment of silence in memory of the militia officers who died in the line of duty.

Vadim Krasnoselsky during the ceremony presented state awards to the Ministry of Internal Affairs officers for exemplary performance of their duties, high professionalism, and dedication to duty. The President announced that Minister of Internal Affairs Vitaly Neagu had been awarded the rank of Lieutenant General of Militia.

Vadim Krasnoselsky, concluding his address, wished everyone good health, prosperity, and continued success in their service to the benefit of Pridnestrovie.
