Protest against visit of the Russian delegation headed by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, the Russian President's envoy to Pridnestrovie Dmitry Rogozin takes place in the Chisinau airport. The unionist youth takes part in it, and the combatants stand apart 'covering' them from behind.
With the Romanian flags in hands and with the banners 'Brawn instead of brain', 'Dodon + Rogozin = disorder', the audience cries out such slogans as 'Russian army, get away!' and also the phrases addressed to the president of Moldova Igor Dodon. In total, about one hundred protesters have gathered near the airport building. One can see that the youth doesn't really understand why they are standing with posters, many of them refuse to give interviews to the Moldavan TV channels and to explain the purpose of such 'warm welcome' for the Russian delegation.
Members of the so-called national war veterans union of Moldova became the instigators of the protest. The day before, on July 27, they had urged fellow citizens to come to the Chisinau airport and to prevent entry of the Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Rogozin into the republic. Activists of the union also suggested to declare Rogozin persona non grata and demanded from the president of Moldova Igor Dodon to refuse his intention to award the Dniester and Russian peacekeepers during the celebration dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the peacekeeping operation on the Dniester.
It is a reminder that Dmitry Rogozin intends to visit the capital of RM and then to arrive in Pridnestrovie together with the president of Moldova Igor Dodon. On invitation of the president Vadim Krasnoselsky, the guests will participate in the celebration dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the peacekeeping operation on the banks of the Dniester.
Yesterday at the Chisinau airport, Moldovan enforcement officers detained citizens of the Russian Federation going to Pridnestrovie to take part in the festive events dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the peacekeeping operation on the Dniester. After an intense checking they were denied entry to Moldova.
