Tiraspol, 21 March. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Pridnestrovie is in extremely difficult situation today. Pridnestrovie's Acting Foreign Minister Vitaly Ignatyev told it in his interview to the TASS (Russian news agency). According to him, the republic is forced to exist «in the conditions of constantly mounting comprehensive pressure brought on by the neighboring states, first of all, by the Republic of Moldova».

«Unfortunately, official Chisinau maintains discrimination paradigm against Pridnestrovie, preferring to communicate using threats, blackmail and economic blockade of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic (PMR). The situation is aggravated by the permanent domestic political turmoil in the neighboring state creating favorable conditions for introduction of new pressure measures against Pridnestrovie and subsequent avoiding of responsibility for deterioration of the social and economic situation," the diplomat noted.

According to Ignatyev, unilateral steps of the RM have caused restriction of freight import by rail to Pridnestrovie only for the last half a year and have extremely aggravated the situation in the field of movement freedom for the Pridnestrovians with the Russian citizenship. «They are intimidated at the Chisinau airport, are demand to register the Moldavan documents, also there are cases of deportation and withdrawal from flights," Ignatyev notes.

The Pridnestrovie's Foreign Minister added that Pridnestrovie was particularly concerned with Moldova's and Ukraine's decision to organize joint customs border control at the Pridnestrovian border. «This step taken beyond the scope of the existing negotiation instruments can destabilize the situation in the entire region considerably," the TASS quotes the diplomat.

Nevertheless, Vitaly Ignatyev emphasized that in these conditions the Pridnestrovian side continues advocating the settlement of all existing differences using political and diplomatic methods within the approved international negotiation mechanisms.
