Tiraspol, 7 June. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. President Vadim Krasnoselsky and prime minister Alexander Martynov had met Russia's vice premier Dmitry Rogozin during their visit to Moscow.
Today, during a press briefing, Vadim Krasnoselsky told journalists about the results of his trip to Moscow. He said that they had discussed the situation around Pridnestrovie, Russia's economic assistance to our country and an electricity supply contract concluded between the MGRES power plant and Moldova's Energocom company. The contract had entered into force on 5 June.
According to the president, Dmitry Rogozin has also greatly contributed to the conclusion of the agreement.
«I thanked Dmitry Rogozin for his great contribution to the restoration of the contract between MGRES and Moldova. When the contract was foiled in March, it was reported to Russia's presidential representative on Pridnestrovie and instructed to find a solution to this issue. And the solution was found. Of course, we knew about the conclusion of the contract in advance, but didn't want to rush things before the start of electricity supply. The supply has started this night; electricity is being supplied; the contract is working," said Vadim Krasnoselsky.
The president noted that the contract's main achievement was that it had been signed without any intermediaries.
«We are proponents of honest, open relationships, both in business and in politics. I am glad the contract has been reinstated. This indicates the beginning of a stable relationship between MGRES as an economic entity and Moldova as a customer," said the president.
The start of electricity supplies to Moldova will have a positive impact on Pridnestrovie's economy. Foreign currency earnings are expected to come in a month.
«Those earnings will come in certain proportions — US dollars and Moldovan lei," explained Krasnoselsky.
