Tiraspol, January 5. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The introduction of customs duties for Pridnestrovian economic agents was called a blow to the entire population of the republic by the President of the PMR Vadim Krasnoselsky. In his address to the leadership of Moldova, he called on them to “come to their senses and leave the path of aggression, take the path of normal peaceful positive negotiations.”
“Only negotiations can solve certain problems. And to introduce restrictions treacherously without warning is a blow to the entire population of Pridnestrovie,” the President of the PMR said.
Let us recall that since January this year, Moldova began to collect compulsorily customs duties on goods imported by business entities of Pridnestrovie. For them, this means paying double payments: to the PMR budget and to the budget of Moldova. No explanations were received from the political representative of Moldova on the essence of the problem, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pridnestrovie noted.
They emphasized that the introduction of duties on the import and export of goods “does not and cannot have any legitimate basis either within the framework of existing agreements or in the context of the notorious pan-European norms and principles.”
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs addressed the international participants in the negotiation process on this matter.
