The Pridnestrovian Foreign Ministry calls on the OSCE to intensify the mediator`s efforts in negotiations with Moldova

The dialogue is in a critical situation and the consequences can be very serious, the PMR MFA warns

Tiraspol, August 4. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Foreign Minister Vitaly Ignatiev met with Special Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office Thomas Mayr-Harting at the PMR's MFA.

Vitaly Ignatiev reminded that that day the dialogue between Tiraspol and Chisinau was in a critical situation and the consequences could be very serious. Old problems are not solved, while Chisinau creates new ones. In fact, the Moldovan authorities are breaking the agreements reached with the mediation of the OSCE in the past years. Vitaly Ignatiev is sure that in this situation mediators need to intervene to get the negotiations back on track.

At present, the agreement on CTP 2015 is being checked for strength - Pridnestrovians have been periodically fined for the absence of a Moldovan “autocitizen”. Chisinau also breaks the mechanism of Vehicle Registration Points, which can lead to negative situations. Car owners from Pridnestrovie are already facing fines.

The so-called Law on separatism also creates problems. On its basis, the authorities of Moldova are already putting representatives of Pridnestrovie on the wanted list. So far, these are isolated facts.

Chisinau is trying to return the customs clearance fee for the economic agents of Pridnestrovie. This can lead to double taxation.

The problem with the import of medical equipment and medicines to Pridnestrovie still remains acute. The Moldovan authorities promised to resolve this issue, but things are still there. Probably, the equipment will have to be returned to the manufacturer, since it will expire without being installed in the scanner.

“The Pridnestrovian side is open to dialogue and ready for compromise solutions, but we do not observe such readiness on the part of Moldova at any level,” Ignatiev stated, urging the OSCE Special Representative to intensify efforts to resolve problems between Tiraspol and Chisinau and minimize negative consequences.
