Vitaly Ignatiev: We are anxiously observing the displacement of Russian culture and language in Moldova

All of this creates additional tension in relations between Tiraspol and Chisinau, the Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs thinks.

Tiraspol, January 31. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Pridnestrovie is concerned about the situation with the long-term displacement of Russian culture, the Russian language, and Russian media in Moldova. This policy of the Moldovan government violates the rights and freedoms of the people.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR Vitaly Ignatiev said this in an interview with the newspaper "Vzglyad".

“When Russian schools were closed in the neighboring region of Moldova, we allocated transport for children from closed schools could go to Pridnestrovie every day and continue their studies in the Russian language. Moreover, among the parents who send their children to our schools, there are also ethnic Moldovans. So these families try to preserve their cultural identity,” the Minister of Foreign Affairs said.

According to him, the processes that are taking place in Moldova today once again emphasize the correctness of the choice that Pridnestrovians made in 1990 by creating the state to protect the physical security of citizens, as well as their own identity.

Vitaly Ignatiev believes that the actions of the government of the Republic of Moldova, directed against the Russian culture and language, also bring additional tension to the relations between Tiraspol and Chisinau.
