Vadim Krasnoselsky held a meeting with the delegation headed by Janis Mazeiks

Representatives of the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Moldova visited Pridnestrovie on a working visit. They visited two schools in Rybnitsa and the Moldovan Metallurgical Plant. The PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky met with the group of visitors headed by Janis Mazeiks in the afternoon.

While welcoming the guests, Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized the importance of systemic communication and noted that there are many issues on the agenda that require discussion. He noted that it is the lack of a full-fledged dialogue that gives rise to misunderstandings, distorted perceptions of the situation and crisis manifestations. Speaking about the energy crisis at the beginning of this year, the President noted that its difficult stages have been passed, but the risks remain. Vadim Krasnoselsky spoke about the "5+2" format in which the EU is an observer. The PMR President considers that the format cannot be "buried": it remains operational and viable. "It is necessary to find the strength in ourselves and return this negotiating platform for the sake of peace on the banks of the Dniester," Vadim Krasnoselsky aimed. Addressing European diplomats, he called on them to assist: "Your word is weighty, and if you hear me, I ask for assistance in resuming the work of the "5 + 2" format".

The head of the European Union delegation to the Republic of Moldova in turn assured that the European Union is supportive of the dialogue, stability and peace. Janis Mazeiks noted that all dialogue formats are important for us and we are not allergic to the "5 + 2" or any other format, the main thing is that it brings benefits. He expressed uncertainty at the same time about the possibility of gathering this format in the current realities. Vadim Krasnoselsky as an example of existing interaction recalled the work of the JCC, which includes representatives of Pridnestrovie, Moldova, Russia, Ukraine, and the OSCE.

Vadim Krasnoselsky outlined the immutability of the position of Pridnestrovie regarding maintaining peace and readiness for negotiations.
