The meeting of the PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Alexander Pankin took place at the Reception House of the Russian Foreign Ministry. The event that was held in the format of a working breakfast was also attended by the PMR Minister of Foreign Affairs Vitaly Ignatiev, Director of the Second Department of the CIS Countries of the Russian Foreign Ministry Alexei Polishchuk and his Deputy Alexander Kondakov.
Welcoming the diplomats, Vadim Krasnoselsky highly appreciated the existing level of working contacts in various areas of bilateral cooperation, and thanked the Russian side for the systematic support of Pridnestrovie and the efforts made in the field of security and peacekeeping activities.
The meeting participants exchanged views on a wide range of issues. One of the main topics of communication was the current situation in the negotiation process between Pridnestrovie and the Republic of Moldova. Mutual concern was expressed about the continuing stagnation of the dialogue between the parties, associated with a significant drop in its dynamics and effectiveness at all levels.
An important topic of the meeting was the discussion of issues of consular services for Russian citizens living in Pridnestrovie in the context of circumstances associated with the pandemic.
The interlocutors paid special attention to the topical aspects of the functioning of the peacekeeping operation on the Dniester. The sides noted the unconditional effectiveness of the mission in this context, speaking out in support of the existing peacekeeping mechanism and its stable unhindered work.
The parties in the course of the meeting focused on practical initiatives related to expanding the areas of Russian-Pridnestrovian bilateral cooperation, assistance to Russian citizens and compatriots living in Pridnestrovie.
At the end of the meeting the parties agreed to continue regular working communication and confirmed their openness to the development of interaction across the entire range of topical issues on the current agenda.
