A meeting of the PMR President and representatives of the media was held in the conference hall of the presidential executive office. Vadim Krasnoselsky invited journalists to the conversation to inform them about the state of affairs in the conditions of the energy crisis and the prospects for overcoming it. The PMR President said that he had visited the Russian capital on a working visit, explaining why he had not announced this visit. Vadim Krasnoselsky said that the initiative was Pridnestrovian-Russian, and the negotiations were held at the level of the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation. The issue of resuming gas supply to the territory of Pridnestrovie was being resolved. Details of the technical aspects have not yet been provided, but the President noted that gas supply for the needs of Pridnestrovians and the functioning of the economy of Pridnestrovie will be restored in the format of providing humanitarian and technical assistance to the republic. Vadim Krasnoselsky focused on the reasons for the current crisis situation, emphasizing that the main one is the lack of a full-fledged political dialogue between Moldova and Pridnestrovie. The President of the PMR expressed confidence that the leader of the neighboring state is not sufficiently informed about the current state of affairs, and therefore is mistaken in many aspects. This conclusion became even more obvious after the briefing held by Maia Sandu. Vadim Krasnoselsky once again confirmed his readiness to hold a meeting at the highest level and inform the President of the Republic of Moldova about the real state of affairs. Among the misconceptions spread by the Moldovan side, for example, is the negative situation in the healthcare sector of Pridnestrovie. Vadim Krasnoselsky in response to statements that medical care is allegedly not provided in the republic informed that 11 out of 13 hospitals are functioning with 2400 hospital beds, slightly more than half of which are occupied. More than fifty ambulances of the ambulance service are leaving for calls (since the beginning of the year there have been more than seven hundred – this is the standard mode). Outpatient care is provided. Medical institutions are provided with heat: almost all use gas, with the exception of the Republican Clinical Hospital, which has a diesel heating system. OSCE representatives will be invited to Pridnestrovie on the instructions of Vadim Krasnoselsky so that they can visit social institutions, get acquainted with the real situation on the spot and give a realistic assessment.
Answering journalists' questions, Vadim Krasnoselsky assured that all systems are ready to resume gas supply. There was a question regarding a possible revision of tariffs for electricity, which the population used in large quantities during the energy crisis. The government has already been tasked with working on this area.
Vadim Krasnoselsky expressed hope that common sense will prevail, and confidence that the situation in the energy sector will stabilize soon. The President thanked the Pridnestrovians for their understanding, patience and endurance.
