Tiraspol, January 9. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Moldova has chosen the path of suffocation of Pridnestrovie and is using the energy crisis against the PMR, the President of the Republic Vadim Krasnoselsky said during a meeting with the OSCE Chairman-in-Office Elina Valtonen.
Vadim Krasnoselsky thanked the head of the Finnish Foreign Ministry (the country chairing the OSCE) for the information that the Moldovan authorities promised to help Pridnestrovie, but recalled that so far these are only unfounded statements. The President of the PMR referred to the letter of the Deputy Prime Minister of Moldova Oleg Serebrian dated December 11.
"The political representative of Moldova, listing all possible problems, says that Chisinau is ready to help to reduce the negative consequences. I don’t know what Mr. Serebryan means. Chop wood? Bring water? Nobody knows what he means. Serebryan himself probably doesn’t know,” Vadim Krasnoselsky said.
The PMR President noted that he is ready to address the President and Prime Minister of Moldova and explain how Chisinau can help Pridnestrovie.
“For real assistance, it is necessary to unblock the accounts of Pridnestrovian enterprises and foreign economic activity, and also stop double taxation. Last year, Moldova illegally confiscated 11 million dollars from Pridnestrovie, imposing illegal duties on Pridnestrovian enterprises. Let Moldova return this money – this will be real assistance. They can be directed to the economy,” Vadim Krasnoselsky said.
“We cannot even physically buy gas. Not because we have no money, but because we have no accounts to pay for gas," he emphasized, recalling that Chisinau had deliberately blocked the bank accounts of Pridnestrovie's enterprises.
Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized that it was Moldova that created the current crisis situation and chose the path of suffocation of Pridnestrovie. At the same time, the President of the PMR noted that he was ready to discuss specific proposals from the Moldovan authorities.
"If they seriously want to provide assistance, they need to be in dialogue. We are ready to ask a lot of questions about this assistance: volumes, delivery method, payments, transit, access points. In the meantime, these are only statements. But they must be followed by actions. And how can they be without negotiations and dialogue? We need a practical result," the President of the PMR summarized.
