The meetings schedule of expert (working) groups of the PMR and the RM were agreed

In the near term rail experts will meet

Tiraspol, January 14. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Political representatives of the PMR and the RM Vitaly Ignatiev and Alexander Flenchea agreed on the schedule of meetings of expert (working) groups for the near future. The first meeting will take place tomorrow. Experts in the field of railway transport will gather. This was announced to the press by the Head of the PMR MFA.

Railway service on the territory of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic was interrupted in March 2006. This was the result of the new rules imposed on March 3, 2006, by Moldova and Ukraine for the passage of goods across the border. It led to the economic blockade of Pridnestrovie. Railway trains followed through the north of Moldova bypassing the territory of the PMR.

In December 2006, with the assistance of the Russian Federation, the Moscow-Chisinau passenger train moving was resumed.

On March 30, 2012, protocol decision “On Principles of Resumption of Full-Fledged Freight Railway Service through the Territory of Pridnestrovie” was signed. At the same time, the border crossing on the Ukrainian-Pridnestrovian border Slobodka – Kolbasna is still closed for import of fuel. This is one of the issues on the negotiating agenda.
