Tiraspol, December 6. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The Pridnestrovian Tirotex textile company has become a member of the BCI (Better Cotton Initiative) international organization for improving cotton. The Association stands for improving the quality of cotton production methods, including those aimed at caring for the environment and human health.
According to the company, joining BCI will allow Tirotex to strengthen its position in the European and, in particular, Swedish sales market.
“As a conscientious member of BCI, Tirotex developed and implemented special software at all stages of its production. The software controls the movement of improved cotton grown by farmers using the BCI methodology throughout the production chain - in the production of yarn, fabric and then finished sewing products,” Andrey Mezhinsky, CEO of Tirotex said.
According to him, now the fabrics or finished products will be sent to the customer with a special marking “Improved Cotton”.
“Thanks to a responsible attitude, Tirotex is on an equal level with other BCI members - world-famous brands such as Levi Strauss, Benetton, Ralph Lauren, Adidas, Burberry, Nike, Williams-Sonoma and many others,” Andrey Mezhinsky added.
So far, the Pridnestrovian company is the only one from neighboring countries included in the BCI member register, which gives Tirotex a competitive advantage on the textile market.
The company also noted that the local laboratory confirmed the high quality of cotton grown in Pridnestrovie. Now, at a textile enterprise, raw material is being cleaned of seeds and weeds, and then tape and yarn are made from purified fiber.
By the end of the year, Pridnestrovian brand complete sets of bed-clothes with a special mark indicating that the product is made from domestic cotton will appear in Tirotex company stores.
