Government discusses 2019 budget

The budget's priorities will be steady salaries and pensions, including increased salaries in the public sector

Tiraspol, 22 May. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. A 2019 budget and a budgetary policy for the next few years were discussed at a governmental meeting.

Prime minister Alexander Martynov underscored at a meeting with his deputies that the transition to a development budget should be the first priority, and the concept of the budgetary and tax policy, which has been developed over a year and a half, will help to implement it. The document is currently under consideration in the Supreme Council. As we have reported, the concept was earlier presented to the expert community at Moscow State University. The document, according to the government, will give an opportunity to make this transition.

Alexander Martynov paid particular attention to the main provisions of the 2019 budget, the government's press service reports.

Among the priorities are steady salaries and pensions. The document also suggests increased salaries in the public sector. at the expanse of savings in the labour remuneration fund. The budget law will provide special tools to do this.

Another important provision is increased funding for the purchase of medicines for Pridnestrovian hospitals and medical facilities. If today's provision is only 15%, within the next three years the figure should increase to 80%.
