Vadim Krasnoselsky invited journalists to inform about the current state of affairs in the energy sector and the prospects for overcoming the crisis

Vadim Krasnoselsky’s meeting with representatives of the Pridnestrovian, Moldovan and Russian mass media took place in the conference hall of the Presidential Administration. The goal was to inform about the current state of affairs. The topic of the briefing was the energy crisis in Pridnestrovie. The republic has been living in conditions that limit normal life since the beginning of 2025. The current meeting is to summarize the results of another week and a whole month of the Pridnestrovian society's confrontation with the test of the lack of gas, heat and electricity supply. Vadim Krasnoselsky recalled the prerequisites for the energy crisis. He spoke about the lack of dialogue between Pridnestrovie and Moldova, both at the highest level and in the format of the "Permanent Conference ...". "5 + 2" is not just two numbers with a plus. This is an effective dialogue platform. These are Pridnestrovie, Moldova, the guarantors are Russia and Ukraine, the OSCE mediator, the observers are the USA and the European Union. This is a platform that would allow us to discuss, among other things, energy issues and make timely decisions to avoid an energy crisis in Pridnestrovie and not only in Pridnestrovie. I assure you, if this platform worked there would be no energy crisis,” the PMR President expressed confidence. He called for abandoning harsh rhetoric and moving on to constructive communication.

Vadim Krasnoselsky recalled that Pridnestrovie and neighboring states are energy-linked, and regional energy security directly depends on the functioning of the Pridnestrovian MGRES station: “If the station stops working, everything will drop. Absolutely everyone will feel it: Ukraine, Romania, Moldova, and Pridnestrovie. This will be a collapse of the energy system. Surprisingly, it took a long time to explain this to specialists from Moldova. Our specialists and specialists from Moldelectrica explained to their colleagues that this is true, and that we cannot take such risks. The station must be in operation. We also need to talk about this with our Moldovan colleagues, so that we can keep this in mind in the future and avoid such complications". Answering the main question: when will the Pridnestrovian society gain access to energy resources? – The President reported that the Moldovan commission on the state of emergency has decided to supply gas to Pridnestrovie by the Energokom company using funds from a European grant. The agreed period of supply is ten days in February. A long-term supply system is being developed. "We will continue working with colleagues from Hungary, with Russian colleagues, with other colleagues, so that gas goes to Pridnestrovie thoroughly and for a long time," Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized.

The blue fuel intended for the Pridnestrovians was launched through the pipeline, the volume is about 30 million cubic meters. One gas power unit of the Moldavian GRES is being launched for now. Rolling power outages have been stopped as of today. Heat and hot water should appear in homes as early as Sunday. As for educational institutions: children will return to their desks in the coming days – as soon as the classrooms and lecture halls will be warm.

Vadim Krasnoselsky thanked the Europeans for the humanitarian aid package, which allows to revive the Pridnestrovian energy sector. Words of gratitude for the support are also addressed to the Russian side.

"Emotional and moral tension" – this is how Vadim Krasnoselsky characterized his own, officials and the entire Pridnestrovian society state in the past month. He emphasized that this test has united the Pridnestrovian people even more.

"The Pridnestrovian people are not broken. There is no need to count on crises to break the Pridnestrovian people, an empty exercise. We will endure and not this – God forbid, of course. In general, I really want to see schools full of children, to see kindergartens with little girls and boys. My eldest grandson goes to school, my daughter goes to school, my grandson goes to kindergarten, and I want to return them there. Let them be in their own children's society and enjoy life. Those who wanted to encroach on this – I feel sorry for these people. Aggression only breeds aggression and nothing more. We are still peace-loving people. We put the interests of the people first. This is very important. We will continue to live and work. Although it will be tense, of course, I have no doubt about it. This is a breath of air for now, a break. There is no need to stop, and our work will continue in the same mode. No one is leaving anywhere, no one is going on vacation, everyone is at work, everyone will continue to work until there is a stable understanding of the energy situation in the region as a whole,” the President concluded.
