Tiraspol, 12 March. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Pridnestrovian President Vadim Krasnoselsky held a meeting with Russian cultural workers, which took place after the rally "To the Future, Together with Russia", the president's press service reports.
Vadim Krasnoselsky thanked the Russian guests for coming to support Pridnestrovians ahead of such a significant event, including for the country.
"Elections are important for any country. But Pridnestrovie treats Russia's elections in a special way. Pridnestrovie, unfortunately, is territorially separated from the Russian Federation, but we are linked by many things - history, culture, traditions. The election of the Russian president is an additional opportunity to be close to Russia, to contribute, to be involved in the history of the Great Homeland," said the president.
Vadim Krasnoselsky recalled that the history of Pridnestrovie is inseparably linked with the history of Russia. He especially noted the Russian peacekeeping mission, which is more than two hundred years old, adding that it is the peacekeeping that could form the basis for the national idea of the Russian state. According to the president, Russia has never been an occupier; it has always been a liberator.
Honoured Artist of the Russian Federation Dmitry Dunaev said that it was the song "Russia is an Eternal Power", which was performed at today's rally, that gave birth to a patriotic project of the same name. As part of this project, actors travel a lot to Russian regions to meet with young people.
"Our main audience is the young cadets of Suvorov and other military schools. Many of them can not explain what patriotism is. For them, it's just a word. Neither teachers nor parents can explain to the younger generation what patriotism is either. Therefore, we, as far as we can, try to conduct such explanatory work. We try to explain that Russia is not only a peacemaker but also a 'good maker'. We are the strongest because we are the kindest," said the Russian actor.
Among the plans of the Russians is communication with Pridnestrovie's Suvorov cadets, as well as visiting historical places.
