Rogozin: An attempt to isolate Pridnestrovie is an attempt to sever those economic ties which have always been there

Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation comments on the installation of joint Moldo-Ukrainian customs station in Kuchurgan

Tiraspol, July 30. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Russian President's envoy for Pridnestrovie Dmitry Rogozin commented on the installation of joint Moldo-Ukrainian customs station in Kuchurgan in his interview to Russia-24 TV channel.

«They try to blockade, isolate Pridnestrovie… It was the most developed part of the Soviet Moldavia. All industry is there. Economic life of Pridnestrovye extends beyond far the Pridnestrovie's territory," Dmitry Rogozin noted.

«An attempt to isolate Pridnestrovie is essentially attempt to sever those economic ties which have always been there regardless of the present bad times. And now they also wreak havoc on the private sector, small business, suitcase traders who cross this border. To be sure, these actions will make for misery," the Russian Deputy Prime Minister emphasized.

He reminded that Russia had also conducted negotiations on that issue with the president of Moldova Igor Dodon and he had been informed about the position of the Russian Federation.

«There is one thing: there will be elections in Moldova and if sober-minded forces win them, we will be able to correct this situation. At this point, we have to be in this situation maintaining fragile peace, protecting our rights of the peacekeeping mission participant in order that no conflict emerged," Rogozin summarized.
