Tiraspol, 6 October. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Pridnestrovie's central bank is exploring the possibility of applying a blockchain technology to introduce the national cryptocurrency.
As the deputy chair of the PRB, chief accountant Sergey Russov notes in his article, cryptocurrency has certain advantage over ordinary money.
«It should be gained as the number of coins is limited, but at the same time sufficient to secure contracts with regard to the prospects for their constant growth. It is easy to verify the authenticity of cryptocurrency. Cryptocurrency is very useful as a means of payment — transactions are carried out instantly at almost no cost price," writes Sergey Russov.
In addition, cryptocurrency is ideal for making savings and is becoming the best means to combat money-laundering and the financing of terrorism. The personal data of each person who owned cryptomoney and the history of all payments with detailed information (beneficiary, amount, purpose and payment routing) can be logged in cryptocurrency itself.
«For this reason, the PRB is currently exploring the possibility of introducing cryptocurrency. It is likely that in the near future Pridnestrovie will have its own cryptocurrency as a title unit payment system (like Webmoney, Yandex Money and so on). Further on, cryptocurrency will serve as fiduciary money," said Sergey Russov.
