Tiraspol, 3 October. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Today, three presidential candidates have submitted their signature sheets and corresponding protocols to the Central Election Commission (CEC).
The head of state, Yevgeny Shevchuk, presented his documents. Parliament speaker Vadim Krasnoselsky and Gennady Kuzmichyov also submitted their sheets.
A special working group, formed by the CEC, will verify the submitted documents.
The presidential campaign in Pridnestrovie started on 11 September. As of today, ten persons have expressed the desire to participate in the campaign. Documents and signature sheets are to be submitted for registration until 10 November.
Incidents also occur during this electoral cycle. A signature collector is reported to have been battered in Bendery last week. This case is currently under investigation.
The political struggle during this election campaign is deemed the fiercest in the entire history of Pridnestrovie. Scandalous and orchestrated incidents with the use of dirty PR tricks continue.
"We have entered, probably, the most difficult election campaign in the entire history of the PMR, and of course there is a feeling of concern and a misunderstanding of what is happening in our country. But these are the costs of the election procedure," said political expert Svetlana Osipova in an interview with PGTRK.
The presidential election will take place on 11 December.
