Tiraspol, 26 March. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Pridnestrovians have always been very active both in Pridnestrovian and Russian elections. During the Russian presidential elections on March 18, this activity was further intensified by the serious pressure exerted both on Pridnestrovie and Russia over a few past years. This opinion was expressed by the sociologist, dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences Elena Bobkova.
"This is the sustained practice: the more pressure is exerted on us, trying to create some kind of false picture of the development of Pridnestrovie or Russia, the more passionately people demonstrate their civil position," stressed the expert.
According to Elena Bobkova, it is the series of attacks and sanctions by the West that has triggered the mechanisms of consolidation and social integration in Russian citizens and compatriots. This is confirmed by a high level of trust to the incumbent head of state, Vladimir Putin. In Pridnestoive alone, where 24 polling stations were opened, 96.4% of citizens voted for him.
"Such a high rating of Vladimir Putin is largely due to the fact that under the pressure Russia is experiencing today, against this background, the Pridnestrovians have united and consolidated. People have an understanding that, in this difficult situation, the change of a strong leader, the change in the development paradigm of a country can unbalance the system and lead to uncontrollable consequences. This is a demonstration of trust to Putin, " Elena Bobkova expressed her conviction.
