Tiraspol, July 25. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR, Vitaly Ignatiev, expressed concern over the growth of nationalist sentiments in Moldova.
"It seems that certain officials in the neighboring state have failed to outgrow the nationalist mentality of the early 90s and overcome some personal complexes and psychological problems, for some reason projecting them onto our country and its citizens. This is a very alarming trend, considering that the Moldovan-Pridnestrovian conflict began with such rhetoric," Vitaly Ignatiev said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
The head of the PMR MFA added that the rhetoric of hatred towards Pridnestrovians is increasingly common in the speeches of Moldovan experts, journalists and even politicians, taking ugly forms.
"It is noteworthy that such odious statements do not receive any adequate assessment either from the Moldovan leadership or from European or international organizations. “What about the principles of humanism, tolerance and democracy?” Ignatiev said.
