The PMR President met with the Dutch Ambassador

The Dutch embassy delegation is in Pridnestrovie on a working visit. The group of visitors is headed by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the Republic of Moldova Fred Duijn. The diplomat and accompanying persons were received by the PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky. The meeting took place in the meeting room of the presidential executive office.

Vadim Krasnoselsky welcoming the guests drew attention to the fact that Fred Duijn was visiting Tiraspol the first time, therefore the meeting was a working and informational one. The President expressed his readiness for an open dialogue, emphasizing the value of information from the original source. The Dutch diplomat noted in turn that he is interested in receiving reliable information and strives to visit different places. He has been representing his country in Moldova since 2023. He is the first Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the Republic of Moldova. The neighboring republic had only a Dutch representative office previously. Fred Duijn has visited several Moldovan cities since April. He considers direct communication with Pridnestrovie necessary and important. Today's visit is proof of this.

Vadim Krasnoselsky noted that the Netherlands is a member of the European Union and is involved in the Moldovan-Pridnestrovian negotiation process and the work of the “Permanent Conference...” format as such. Objective realities are such that the “5+2” format is currently frozen, but the Pridnestrovian side is of the opinion that the format that has proven its worth and effectiveness is workable and should be preserved and activated regardless of the circumstances. The PMR President emphasized that Pridnestrovie stands for the position of maintaining peace and continuing negotiations.

Moldova’s economic pressure on Pridnestrovian business and the people of Pridnestrovie in general did not go unnoticed by the interlocutors. Vadim Krasnoselsky recalled that the republic has been fulfilling social obligations to its citizens independently without Moldovan participation for more than three decades of the modern history of Pridnestrovie. The source of financing pensions, public sector salaries and benefits, infrastructure development of cities and villages in Pridnestrovie is the Pridnestrovian budget, which is formed from tax revenues as in any state. Moldova’s infringements are groundless and unlawful, says Vadim Krasnoselsky.

The participants of the international meeting discussed this and a wide range of other issues of mutual interest in detail, including bilateral interaction, and agreed to maintain working contacts.
