Tiraspol, August 3. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. XI Great Reporting and Elective Circle of the Union of Cossacks of Russia adopted a statement in support of Pridnestrovie.
The document, published on the Black Sea Cossack Host`s official website, notes that the republic is not just an ally of Russia and a zone of its strategic interests. Absolutely Russian people live here, including more than 200 thousand citizens of the Russian Federation.
At the same time, the people of Pridnestrovie actually turned out to be a hostage of two pro-Western states - Moldova and Ukraine. Ukraine has closed the border with Pridnestrovie, deployed large contingents of troops near it and threatens an armed invasion, subject to the consent of Chisinau. Moldova, in turn, is actively arming and doing everything to paralyze the negotiation process and disrupt the peacekeeping mission on the Dniester.
“Using the fact that all Pridnestrovian imports and exports only go through its territory, Moldova increased pressure on the republic, which found itself in the ring of blockades: transport, food, medicine, banking. Pridnestrovian goods are regularly delayed, even of a humanitarian nature, such as medical equipment, medicines, and certain categories of food. Changes to the criminal code have been adopted in Moldova, which give a free hand in the application of repressive measures against literally every inhabitant of the PMR, including Russian citizens, just because they live peacefully on their land,” the statement states.
The Cossacks of Russia consider the current situation unacceptable. The statement contains an appeal to the leadership of Russia to increase Russian-Pridnestrovian cooperation in all areas, to implement an urgent set of measures to comprehensively support Pridnestrovie.
“The Russian Cossacks declare their support for the Russian peacekeeping operation on the Dniester as a key and reliable guarantee of ensuring the security of the peaceful Pridnestrovian people and the inviolability of its continuation until a comprehensive and fair settlement of the Moldovan-Pridnestrovian conflict and express support to all the multinational people of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic and the Cossacks of the Black Sea Cossack Host , which has been guarding the borders of Russia on the banks of the Dniester for more than 30 years,” the statement emphasizes. In addition, the Cossacks of Russia warned all destructive forces against trying to arrange new provocations against Pridnestrovie.
