Pridnestrovie demanded from Moldova to return detained goods with food

Chisinau cannot explain why the goods are not allowed through after all the analyses are conducted

Tiraspol, February 17. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Moldova is not ready to solve the problem with the unhindered import of medicines to Pridnestrovie. There are also chronic issues with the import of food products into the Pridnestrovie.

This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR Vitaly Ignatiev commenting on the meeting of political representatives of Pridnestrovie and Moldova that took place today in Tiraspol.

Recall that after Ukraine closed the checkpoints on the border with Pridnestrovie in February last year, the PMR can only import goods through the territory of Moldova. Taking advantage of this circumstance, Chisinau creates obstacles for Pridnestrovian importing enterprises. Representatives of some of them also took part in the meeting of political representatives today.

According to Vitaly Ignatiev, the case with a shipment of fish, which was detained in Moldova three months ago and is still on Moldovan territory, is indicative.

“Laboratory studies conducted both in Moldova and in Romania showed that it is safe for people. But Chisinau, simply out of principle, does not allow this cargo to pass, which, can already be destroyed. Today we demanded an answer, yet the representative of the Moldovan Agency for Food Safety could not explain why the shipment was not allowed through after several analyzes were conducted,” the Head of the PMR Foreign Ministry said.

Vitaly Ignatiev noted that that day there were "manipulations with Pridnestrovian shipments" on the part of Moldova: some of them are passed, and some are detained. “We urgently demanded the return of all goods,” the Minister stressed.
