Moldova should not implement a "law on separatism" - OSCE Chairman-in-Office

Bujar Osmani said that he raised this question in Chisinau

Bendery, February 14. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Moldova should not implement a "law on separatism" if it can negatively affect the negotiation process between Tiraspol and Chisinau. This opinion was expressed by the OSCE Chairman-in-Office, Minister of Foreign Affairs of North Macedonia Bujar Osmani at a meeting with the President of the PMR Vadim Krasnoselsky, the press service of the head of state reports.

“I raised this question today in the conversations that took place in Chisinau. And I clearly said that even though we recognize the concern about security issues such legislation should not be implemented,” said the OSCE Chairman-in-Office.

Vadim Krasnoselsky stressed that the law adopted by the Moldovan authorities not only "negatively affects the negotiation process", but also "endangers the life, health, and freedom of Pridnestrovians."

Recall that on February 2, the so-called law on separatism was adopted by the Parliament of Moldova in the final reading - amendments that introduce new articles into the Criminal Code of the Republic of Moldova (“separatism”, “conspiracy against Moldova”, “creation of an illegal information structure”, etc). These articles are expected various prison terms from 2 to 12 years, as well as heavy fines. According to legal experts, the "law on separatism" may affect the rights and freedoms of almost every citizen of Pridnestrovie.
