PMR MFA: Moldova still hasn't let the transport with medicines into Pridnestrovie

Shipments are being held at customs in Bulboki for more than 2 weeks

Tiraspol, April 13. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Moldova still has not let the transport with medicines needed by Pridnestrovie through its border. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs states that the Republic of Moldova has continued to apply administrative-bureaucratic barriers and restrictions against Pridnestrovian importers.

Recall: on April 6, at a meeting of Representatives for Political Affairs from Pridnestrovie and Moldova, the Moldovan side publicly promised, no later than April 11, to let through one of the importing companies` goods that were at the customs post of the Republic of Moldova in Bulboki from March 27 and April 1. However, these promises have not yet been fulfilled.

In recent days, the Representative for Political Affairs from the Republic of Moldova has not responded to Pridnestrovian requests either at the level of direct working experience or formally. As noted in the Foreign Ministry, he excluded himself from the fulfillment of his promises in the framework of negotiations with Pridnestrovie.

“Instead of facilitating the passage of goods that have been at the customs posts of the Republic of Moldova for more than two weeks and helping to solve acute humanitarian problems, the Moldovan negotiator makes speculations in the media that contradict the facts, trying in vain to give the appearance of the absence of comprehensive restrictions for Pridnestrovie,” the statement of the PMR Foreign Ministry said.

By blocking the mechanism of the Pridnestrovian import of medicines, Chisinau is trying to hide behind a free trade agreement with the European Union. But Moldova overlooks the fact that half of the detained medicines are produced directly in the EU countries, which eliminates all its logic, the statement emphasizes.

“We regard the refusal of the official representative of the Republic of Moldova to fulfill his assurances about the solution of specific problems as a deliberately inadequate approach aimed at undermining trust and destroying the mechanics of the negotiation process itself. This pathological inability to fulfill the undertaken obligations, as well as an attempt to use the global and regional crisis to strengthen the blockade of Pridnestrovie, should obtain the international participants` estimate in the settlement process,” the Foreign Ministry notes.
