Tiraspol, December 19. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Deputy of the Russian State Duma Artem Turov made an appeal to Moldovan politicians after the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration (MFAEI) of Moldova called the participation of the Russian Ambassador to the Republic of Moldova in the inauguration ceremony of the President of the PMR Vadim Krasnoselsky as an “unfriendly action”.
“I would like to remind Moldovan politicians that the same people live in Pridnestrovie, who study, work, build families and, among other things, choose their Government so that all spheres of life can function. And also so that their position was presented at the negotiations," Artem Turov, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee for CIS Affairs, posted on this occasion on his Telegram page.
He recalled that the Russian Federation has played a key role in ending the bloodshed on the Dniester.
“Our peacekeepers have been providing a peaceful life for almost 30 years, while the participation of the ambassador of our country, which, I recall, is a participant in the negotiation process, is a normal practice. From the official Chisinau`s side, we only see constant pressure on the region, economic and political. And the statements of a number of politicians about Pridnestrovie and its inhabitants pave the way for destabilizing the settlement process,” the Russian parliamentarian added.
In an interview with Sputnik Moldova, Artem Turov also stressed that “Pridnestrovie and its political leadership was an internationally recognized entity within the framework of the 5 + 2 negotiation format”.
“The Russian Federation, like its diplomatic corps in Moldova, remains a reliable guarantor of the normal course of the Pridnestrovian settlement process. Today's statement by the Moldovan MFAEI looks like an obvious step back in the peace process on the Dniester,” Artem Turov said.
Recall that Vadim Krasnoselsky`s inauguration took place on December 17 at the Pridnestrovian State Drama and Comedy Theater named after N. S. Aronetskaya. The inauguration ceremony of the head of the Pridnestrovian state was attended by deputies of the Supreme Council, representatives of the executive and judicial bodies of state power. Among those invited was Oleg Vasnetsov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Moldova.
The previous day, the Chairman of Pardons Commission in the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Moldova, Ion Guzun, proposed declaring persona non grata and expelling the Ambassador of Russia to Moldova Oleg Vasnetsov for participating in the inauguration of the President of Pridnestrovie Vadim Krasnoselsky.
