Tiraspol, September 15. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. According to preliminary data, industrial output in Pridnestrovie reached 10.9 billion rubles in January-August this year, which is 13.3% higher in real terms compared to the same period in 2020.

Such figures were released by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economic Development of the PMR Sergey Obolonik at a meeting of the Coordinating Council on minimizing financial and economic losses of enterprises and the population in connection with the spread of COVID-19.

According to him, since the beginning of the year, experts have noted positive trends in the industrial sector. In June, we managed to reach a record monthly volume of industrial output, which amounted to 1.6 billion rubles. A similar indicator with slight fluctuations is held in July-August.

“A consistently high workload remains in metallurgy - the August production volume there amounted to 673.3 million rubles, or 43.3% of the total industrial output. The total output of the industry since the beginning of the year exceeded the baseline indicator by 2.2 times and reached 4.7 billion rubles, while for the entire last year, products were produced for 3.5 billion rubles. Without taking into account the price factor, the increase amounted to about 32.2%,” Sergey Obolonik said.

Output growth was also recorded in the electric power industry. Here, the increased demand in the domestic market, combined with an increase in export volumes, supports the monthly output of 367.2 million rubles. In general, following the 8 months results, the industry indicator reached 2,829.6 million rubles, which demonstrates an increase of 7.6% in current prices, 5.4% in comparable prices.

Now is a busy season for the representatives of the processing industry. This affects the output indicators. In August, food industry production reached its maximum value since the beginning of the year - 175.6 million rubles, and in general, the results of 8 months were 10% higher than the same period last year for the industry.

In mechanical engineering, the volume of production in January-August amounted to 261.1 million rubles. This is 26.6% more in current prices and 20.3% in comparable prices.
