Pridnestrovie brought up the suggestion on addressing the crisis in the railway sector

The question was also raised on the resumption of passenger traffic on the routes Moscow - Chisinau and Chisinau - Odessa in the near future

Tiraspol, May 25. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PMR took part in a meeting of expert (working) groups on rail transport and transportations from Pridnestrovie and the Republic of Moldova. This is the first meeting of this kind this year. It was held in the format of a video conference.

The parties discussed the current situation in the rail freight sector, as well as a wide range of topical issues that negatively affect the economy of this industry. Among them there is the persistence of administrative barriers, including a ban on the transportation of oil products through the Slobodka - Kolbasna border crossing on the border of Pridnestrovie and Ukraine. They also spoke about the aggravation of problems with the level of technical equipment and the state of the railway infrastructure in Moldova.

The Pridnestrovian side brought up a number of practical initiatives aimed at overcoming the crisis situation in the railway sector, which are planned to be discussed with specialized experts in the near future.

Separately, experts dwelled on the prospect of resuming passenger traffic by rail in the near future, in particular on the routes Moscow - Chisinau and Chisinau - Odessa.

Also, the delegations of Pridnestrovie and Moldova confirmed their willingness, in principle, to once again prolong the Protocol Decision "On the principles of the resumption of full-fledged rail freight traffic through the territory of Pridnestrovie" dated March 30, 2012.
