Pridnestrovie received 27 thousand white coats for medical workers

Humanitarian aid was provided by Great Britain

Tiraspol, December 2. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Humanitarian aid from Great Britain arrived in Pridnestrovie. British ambassador to Moldova Steven Fisher personally handed over 27,000 white coats to the Republican Clinical Hospital. This safety equipment for doctors will be distributed across all hospitals of the republic.

Gennady Gribenchikov, deputy head physician for Surgery at the Republican Clinical Hospital noted, that such white coats for medical workers are a daily necessity, because doctors are at the forefront of the fight against coronavirus every day.

“We are very grateful to be heard. We feel the support of the state, which attains everything we need on first demand. We are also glad to accept any help from world-wide organization,” said Gennady Gribenchikov.

During the humanitarian aid donation, Steven Fisher noted that  Pridnestrovian medical workers waging the same struggle here as their British colleagues. He stressed; if we work together, we will be able to defeat the virus and overcome the pandemic.

“Today we are handing over a humanitarian aid, purchased from taxes paid by the British. Many of them have never been to Pridnestrovie, but their generosity towards this part of Europe is a characteristic feature of how the UK responds to COVID-19,” the British ambassador to Moldova said.

The event was attended by Deputy Foreign Minister of the PMR Alexander Stetsyuk. The diplomat noted, that the UK is providing such assistance for the first time.

“The white coats, which came from the UK, were purchased for about $100,000. We are grateful for such an open form of transferring this humanitarian aid to our colleagues from the Republican Clinical Hospital. In Pridnestrovie greet such support,” Alexander Stetsyuk said.
