Pridnestrovian JCC delegation hopes to return the practice of Joint Peacekeeping Force manoeuvres

The last test on the readiness of the JPF was carried out in April 2013

Bendery, November 28./Novosti Pridnestrovya/. At the next meetings of the Joint Control Commission, the Pridnestrovian side expects to return to the issue of verification of combat readiness of units of the Joint Peacekeeping Forces. This was stated in an interview with journalists by Oleg Belyakov, Co-Chairman of the JCC from Pridnestrovie.

"Last week we checked the posts of peacekeepers, where, among other things, the combat readiness of the soldiers was checked. The question now is how well the military contingents of the Joint Peacekeeping Force operate. Everyone understands how important this is, as daily regular work determines the success of all the tasks set", the head of the delegation said.

It should be reminded that the last JPF manoeuvres had been organized in April 2013. Subsequently, the Moldovan side blocked the verification of the readiness of the units. This year manoeuvres were included in the plan of the main activities of peacekeepers adopted by the Joint Control Commission.

According to Oleg Belyakov, the Pridnestrovian side expects a compromise on this issue.

He noted that on other problematic points the parties were able to find a solution.

"It was agreed that we would put the most difficult issues into consultation. And only after the foundation of the solution they will be brought to meetings. Such agreements have occurred before. Meetings, consultations were held, decisions were worked out and then made already at the JCC and were implemented quite successfully. We return to this regime to ensure the normal operation of the JCC", the Co-Chair concluded.
