The sports ground is already functioning behind the sports ground that is still operational. Constructions of the buildings that will be part of the Lions Arena sports complex are being built next to the capital's stadium. Playing fields, courts, athletics tracks, stands, the infrastructure necessary for the comfort of athletes and spectators are ready to receive visitors. Today the official opening of the facility took place. The PMR President and his wife took part in the event.
They organized for the guests a tour of the complex, which was created as a place for family leisure and introducing representatives of different generations to a healthy lifestyle, physical education and sports. This social project was implemented at the expense of private investors, attraction of which was taken over by the management of CJSC Interdnestrkom. The idea was born in connection with the active development of mini-football in Pridnestrovie (today there are 37 teams). The initiative was supported by the PMR President, A modern sports complex has grown on the site of a spontaneous dump adjacent to the city stadium and pool. Its area is 13500 square meters. The artificial turf of two five-a-side football fields complies with international standards and allows holding international competitions here. The stands allow to simultaneously accommodate more than seven hundred fans. Lighting was thought out, modern sound and video equipment was installed, Vadim Krasnoselsky and other participants in the celebration were told today. In addition to futsal, tennis will be cultivated here. Two tennis courts were shown to visitors. A special pride is the seven-layer innovative coating. Comfortable stands for spectators are thought out. In the center of the arena, a sector has been equipped for lovers of paddle tennis, a game sport that is still not very common among Pridnestrovians. The guests were given the opportunity to get acquainted with the sports and related infrastructure, communicate with sports fans who are already practicing at new venues.
According to the President of the Pridnestrovian futsal league, Sergey Ganzha, recalled that two years ago there was a wasteland overgrown with human growth, representatives of four dozen contracting organizations, both local and attracted from abroad, made every effort to put the facility into operation on the occasion of the next anniversary of the founding of Tiraspol. Sergey Ganzha expressed gratitude to the country's leadership for supporting the project at the state level and personally to Vadim Krasnoselsky for his presidential attention to sports in general and the creation of this complex in particular.
In his welcoming and congratulatory speech, the President emphasized that the republic is investing in the construction, repair and equipping of sports facilities - stadiums, swimming pools, training facilities, in the development of physical education and the support of professional sports. Speaking about the arena being opened today, Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized that this is not only a socially significant, but also an investment project. The President called the sports complex the fruit of the work of caring people who understand that only by personal initiative, active civic stance and their own efforts can the republic be made more beautiful and more comfortable. He expressed gratitude to everyone who contributed to the construction of the complex, making a feasible contribution to the development of mass sports, introducing the population of the republic to a healthy lifestyle and physical culture.
The President presented awards to those who were directly involved in the creation of the complex. The Head of CJSC “Interdnestrcom” noted with memorable signs the partner organizations, thanks to which the project was implemented.
Considering that Tiraspol's “Lions Arena” is not only a training base, but also a potential venue for international sporting events, during the opening ceremony of the sports complex, framework agreements on cooperation and development of sports were signed with the presidents of the Moldavian football and tennis federations. They launched the Futsal Championship. Like the arena, this is considered open with the first hit on the ball. It was played by the President of the PMR Vadim Krasnoselsky, Head of the PMR mini-football league, General Director of CJSC Interdnestrcom Sergey Ganzha and a young footballer. The ball played will take place among the exhibits of the museum of the sports complex "Lions Arena". The competitive part of the holiday was opened by the IDC and Moldprogress teams.
