The expert arrived in Pridnestrovie and Moldova at the invitation of the OSCE Mission in order to study the current situation in the interbank cooperation of the parties and to find possible solutions to actual problems.
The Chairman of the PRB, Vladislav Tidva, told Ilse Schuster about the Pridnestrovian banking system functioning and the main aspects of the monetary policy implemented by the Central Bank.
The relationship analysis between the PMR and the Republic of Moldova in the banking sector was presented with an emphasis on the problem of blocking Pridnestrovian banks correspondent accounts, as well as the conversion of the lei mass formed in the trade process with the Republic of Moldova.
The Pridnestrovian side informed the Austrian expert in detail about the problems faced by the republic enterprises engaged in foreign economic activity, including the closure and refusal to open accounts in Moldova commercial banks.
“Pridnestrovie representatives spoke out in favor of identifying viable ways of establishing equal cooperation between the parties banking systems in the boosting international trade interest,” the PMR MFA noted.
Pridnestrovie also confirmed readiness for further cooperation with Ilse Schuster in order to form the most complete and objective picture of the current state affairs in the banking sector, as well as develop practical recommendations aimed at resolving the existing contradictions.
